Context
As part of Keep Britain Tidy's Love Parks Week, a national campaign which celebrates the value of parks and green spaces and the people who care for them, Bassetlaw District Council is organising a public photography competition inviting residents to submit photographs of their favourite Council-owned parks.
Love Parks Week highlights the important role that parks play in supporting community wellbeing, encouraging social connections, promoting physical activity, and enhancing the local environment.
Terms and Conditions
• Landscape of portrait orientated photos are accepted
• Photos must have a limit of 10 MBs
• Photos should be in JPEG or PNG format
• 1 photo per entrant should be submitted

Information we collect about you
We may collect the following information as part of the competition
• Name
• Date of Birth
• Address
• Postcode
• Email address
• Telephone number
• Photographs
How we collect information about you
We will collect information by the following :
• Email
Use of your personal data
If you enter this competition, we will use your personal data and submitted photograph(s) for the following purposes:
• Administering and managing the competition,
• Contacting you about your entry,
• Judging the competition,
• Publicly displaying, publishing, or sharing winning or selected photographs (e.g. on our website, social media channels, printed materials, including Green Flag Award entries and social media posts announcing the winner).
• Crediting you as the photographer (name will be published where appropriate).
What types of personal data may be processed
For the purpose of the competition we will require your full name, date of birth, address, postcode, and your contact details namely either email address or telephone number.
Although we ask that you do not intentionally submit images of other people, the photographs you submit may contain:
• Images of you or other identifiable individuals;
• Special category data (e.g. visible health-related information, racial or ethnic origin, religious symbols, biometric identifiers).
By submitting a photo that includes other identifiable individuals, you confirm that you have obtained their permission for the image to be submitted and used for the purposes described above.
We may contact you to request consent to process any personal data contained within your photographs. We reserve the right to delete any photographs containing personal data where we determine that there is no applicable lawful basis for processing that personal data.
Protecting your personal data
We are strongly committed to data security and will take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or corruption. We have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard the personal information that we hold.
We do not currently transfer your data to any third country or international organisation.
Retention
We will store your photographs and associated data for 2 months, after which the images and personal data will be securely deleted unless further consent is obtained.
Your rights
You have the right to:
• Withdraw your consent at any time
• Request deletion of your data
• Request access to your data
• Ask questions or raise concerns about how your data is used
Withdrawing consent will not affect any processing already carried out, such as previously published content.

If you are dissatisfied, you can then make a complaint to the Chief Executive under stage 1 of the Council’s complaints procedure.
